It’s All About Seeds

A very famous story about how “ An old CEO of a company decided to choose the next competent CEO for his company”.

 

Mr. Krishnakant was turning 60 years next year, so he decided to choose an equally competent CEO for his company next year. As he was a man of ethics so don’t want to pass this responsibility to his son but to a person who actually earns for this place with his capabilities. So he was in continuous process of screening a young and energetic executive within the company suitable for this position.

Very next morning he called a meeting and disclosed that is in the search of the next CEO for his company. He was having enough time for almost a year so he decided to take a test. He distributed seeds among his team of deserving candidates and assigned them a task “the executive will grow the most beautiful plan will be the next CEO of his company”.

Siddarth was among the other executives he was very happy and after offices, he told the entire story to his wife and they both started the process of growing seeds into the plant full of preparation and they were performing all the activities like watering of plant, timely keeping plan under the sun and fertilizing, etc. responsible for the proper growth of the plant.

Surprisingly no plant was coming event after with all sincere efforts’ of Siddarth and his wife, Siddarth was depressed. The one year passed and the day of CEO selection had come.

He called his other colleagues and come to know that everyone was ready with a plant and excited for the day of CEO selection.

Siddarth's wife asked him to go with this empty pot and don’t get disheartened.

On the day of CEO selection, everyone was sitting with a beautiful fully grown plant in their pot and they all were laughing at Siddarth.

Soon Mr. Krishnakant entered into the board room and looked at everyone. Then he looked at Siddarth and asked him why is he with the empty pot ?”. For one moment Siddarth was thinking as if he could be fired today. But with enough courage, Siddarth told everything about his efforts and story behing this empty pot honestly.

After some silence, Mr. Krishnakant asked everyone to put hands together in welcoming the next CEO Siddarth.

An employee started shouting “Why Siddarth even if was not able to anything with seeds?”.

Mr. Krishnakant smiled and said yes my dear “This is only because of seeds that he is next CEO”.

Later he disclosed that he had given boiled seeds one year before and some of the dishonest executives replace with other seeds for showing their fake performance.

“It’s only the success story of seeds planted right from our childhood that builds our character.”
